Koottickal is one of the oldest plantation settlements in Kanjirappally Taluk of Kottayam district of Kerala state. From the British Ireland. John Joseph Murphy, an Irish man started rubber plantation in Kerala. The inherent obsession in Keratitis to acquire a string of degrees after their names has given birth to a new, rapidly expanding entrepreneurial phenomenon –parallel colleges, or tutorial colleges as they are officially known. Confined exclusively to the private sector, tutorial colleges were originally established to cater to the bottom-of-the-barrel students - those who failed in various public examinations .But the spiraling demand for educational qualifications in a state which already boasts of the highest literacy percentage (60 against 29 per cent in the rest of India) has led to an overnight expansion in the scope and activity of tutorial colleges.
A group of well-educated youth of Koottickal started a parallel college and named it PIONEER COLLEGE. I am lucky enough to be a student of the college and later on I became a tutor in the year 1996. We Observed that the students who passed out from our college get only a meager chance for their higher studies. The transportation facility was very low and many students came to the college on foot covering even more than 10 km a day. Moreover, no innovational educational courses prevailed in the private as well as government colleges nearby.
At this moment I found a great scope for an educational consultancy. The college was under the leadership o f the former principal Mr. P P Joshi. He can be regarded as my mentor for the new venture and a role model for me at his philanthropism. All the teachers helped me a lot in starting the consultancy. Last but not least I must express my sincere gratitude to each and every student who helped in many ways. Since the numbers are long, I am not mentioning in particular. The appointed day has come and my dream PIONEER CONSULTANTS was opened on 7 June 1998 in Mundakkayam.
Our aim was to provide best admission Counseling possible to aspiring, college and school students. Since inception we have already provided proper admission guidance to over 13000 students to various top colleges in India and abroad. As a mark of recognition, we were awarded ISO certification in the year 2018. Over 10000+ students completed their courses successfully and entered in the professional world. Many of our students bagged gold medals for their meritorious academic achievements.
